Mario DiGangi and Molly Murray will serve as lead scholars for the program. Dr. DiGangi is Professor of English at Lehman College and the Graduate Center, City University of New York. Dr. Murray is Associate Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. Both scholars are committed teachers and have published widely on Shakespeare and his contemporaries as well as the broader contexts of English Renaissance drama, poetry, and culture. Dr. Murray was a contributor to The Cambridge World Shakespeare Encyclopedia, while Dr. DiGangi has published works such as Approaches to Teaching English Renaissance Drama, designed to give teachers practical guidance on introducing students to the work of Shakespeare and his contemporaries.

Master teaching artists, Krista Apple and Claudia Zelevansky, will contribute the perspectives of actor and director. In addition to her extensive work as an actor, Ms. Apple taught acting Temple University and continues to work as a teaching artist in schools throughout the east coast. Ms. Zelevansky received her Master of Fine Arts in Directing from Yale University and has directed over 35 theater productions, both off-Broadway and regionally.

Katie Miller, Education Director at Theatre for a New Audience, is the director of the institute. She studied theater and education at the University of California, Santa Barbara and New York University. For over a decade she has worked in arts education in New York City, designing and implementing arts programs for students, teachers, and families.
