STIPEND & HOUSING
Teachers participate free of charge and receive a stipend of $2,100 for the two-week program. The stipend is intended to help defray travel expenses to and from New York City and living expenses while at the Institute. The first half of the stipend will be paid to the scholars on the first day of the institute with the remainder paid on the final day.
Our Summer Scholars will have the option to stay at the St. George Residence, student housing located in Brooklyn Heights. Located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in all of New York City, the St. George Residence is on the site of what was once the famed St. George Hotel – a hot spot that drew celebrities, athletes, and presidential candidates. The neighborhood is full of great coffee shops, restaurants, markets, and banks, and the residence is just steps to the 2/3 subway stop at Clark Street. The Polonsky Shakespeare Center is a short 3 subway stops to Nevins Street.
The cost for the St. George Residence is $850 ($425 per week) for a double occupancy room, and $1,276 ($638 per week) for a single occupancy room from Saturday, July 14th – Saturday, July 28th. There is an optional linen package (bath towels, sheets, pillow, blanket) available for $75.
