The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership

joe-chan.jpgInaugurated last summer and working in close partnership with the City, the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership is a non-profit organization that has been created to promote the continued growth of Downtown Brooklyn as a viable mixed-use commercial, cultural, academic and residential center. The DBP incorporates the functions of four already established Brooklyn non–profit organizations: the Downtown Brooklyn Council, the MetroTech Business Improvement District, the Fulton Mall Improvement Association and the BAM Local Development Corporation.

The Partnership is spearheading on planning and development initiatives in these areas, as well as developing a destination marketing plan and addressing quality of life issues. Joseph Chan, who was formerly the Senior Policy Advisor in Dan Doctoroff’s office, is the DBP’s first president.
