THEATRE FOR A NEW AUDIENCE (TFANA) in Brooklyn, NY invites qualified candidates to submit applications to become its next General Manager. The General Manager is a trusted confidant and peer, a top executive who oversees all producing duties within TFANA’s season of plays and humanities activities at TFANA’s permanent home, Polonsky Shakespeare Center (PSC), in the Brooklyn Cultural District. The General Manager will understand the dynamics of producing large-scale theatrical productions which play to diverse audiences as well as public events in conjunction with performances, artists’ residencies, workshops and commissions; have high-level negotiation and financial forecasting skills, and the skill to facilitate the execution of the creative impulses of the world-class artists TFANA engages. The General Manager is a doer and problem-solver of day-to-day issues of producing in one of the most competitive arts environments in the world, and will intuitively understand how to marshal resources and people with a sense of drive and diplomacy — all while thinking several steps ahead to create solutions before problems arise.
