The 2014-2015 Drama Desk Awards nominations were announced April 23, 2014. Among those nominated are Tamburlaine the Great for Outstanding Revival of a Play; Cesar Alvarez (An Octoroon) and Arthur Solari & Jane Shaw (Tamburlaine the Great) for Outstanding Music in a Play; and Mimi Lien (An Octoroon) for Oustanding Set Design.
Each year, the Drama Desk votes special awards to recognize excellence and significant contributions to the theater, for the 2014-2015 season John Douglas Thompson is included for invigorating theater in New York through his commanding presence, classical expertise, and vocal prowess. This season he demonstrated exceptional versatility in Tamburlaine the Great and The Iceman Cometh
