Support the Education Program

For more than 30 years, Theatre for a New Audience has introduced Shakespeare and classic drama to New York City Public School students grades 5 to 12 and teachers from low-income neighborhoods in high-quality, in-depth, multi-week classroom residencies, taught by the Theatre’s experienced Teaching Artists. Support this vital program today by making a tax-deductible donation.

The World Theatre Project introduces Shakespeare through a Theatre for a New Audience production of Shakespeare at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, which includes attendance at special student matinees. For many of these students, the program provides their first experience of live theatre. The New Voices Project teaches students to write their own original plays that are performed at their schools by professional actors. Students pay nothing to participate and both programs impact literacy. Since 1984, more than 140,000 students citywide have participated.
