Our Health and Safety Protocols

As we welcome you back to Polonsky Shakespeare Center, Theatre for a New Audience has put into place new health and safety protocols for the protection of our audiences, artists and employees. In light of evolving COVID-19 transmission rates, as well as government regulations and guidance from the CDC, these protocols are subject to updates. If attending our productions at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, please note your pre-show emails for any changes to these policies.

 

Audience Requirements

Following are requirements for all audience members. We reserve the right to remove those who do not follow these protocols.

Proof of full vaccination is required for entry into Polonsky Shakespeare Center.  We are not accepting negative Covid test results for entry.

By purchasing or receiving your ticket, you affirm that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. A complete vaccination is 14 days following a final dose of the Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, or a World Health Organization-approved vaccine.

Acceptable forms of proof include the NYS Excelsior Pass; the NYC Covid Safe Pass or other official government mobile app; or the original, a copy of, or photo of your vaccination card, along with a government-issued ID.

Children 12 and under may only attend with a fully vaccinated parent or guardian, and must show proof of a negative COVID test (either a PCR test within the past 72 hours or an antigen [rapid] test within 6 hours of entry).

Audience members must be masked upon entry and at all times, including while watching a performance inside the auditorium.

Masks must be worn over both the nose and the mouth and the mask must be appropriate (no bandanas or mesh, dirty, or ventilated masks). Face masks will be provided at entry if you don’t have one or your mask is inappropriate. Concessions will be open with a limited grab & go menu. Masks must be worn at all times, except when actively eating or drinking.

 

* By entering the premises, you affirm that you are not experiencing symptoms such as fever, chills, shortness of breath, cough, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting. You also affirm that you have not received a positive COVID-19 test within the past ten days.

* For the safety of our artists and crew, no backstage visits or meet-and-greets will be permitted. If you wish to greet members of the cast, please meet them outside following the performance. All TFANA artists, vendors, and staff are subject to a mandatory vaccination policy.

Improvements at Polonsky Shakespeare Center

Indoor air quality and filtering has been enhanced by installation of an iWave ionization system throughout the facility. Freestanding HEPA filters are also used in the lobby and elevators as well as backstage and in dressing rooms. These improvements meet or exceed the standards set by public health officials and our theatrical unions.

We have enhanced our cleaning procedures, with sanitizing of all high-touch surfaces in the lobby and restrooms before and during each performance. Armrests and guardrails within the Mainstage are sanitized between performances. Assistive listening devices are sanitized before and after each use.

We will provide masks and hand sanitizer for all audience members.

All Theatre for a New Audience employees are fully vaccinated and required to wear masks within Polonsky Shakespeare Center. Actors are also fully vaccinated, as required by Actors Equity Association and our own employment policies.

A limited concessions menu of grab & go items will be available at Monica & Ali Wambold Food & Drink in our lobby. Masks are required when not actively eating or drinking. Our concessions provider Sweet Hospitality Group has a fully-vaccinated staff and has put extensive protocols and procedures into place to ensure safe service.

Our Front of House staff will scan tickets for contactless admission.

 

Box Office Policies

We ask that you stay home if you are not feeling well or are awaiting the results of a COVID test. Our Box office will be happy to exchange your tickets for another performance date or offer a full refund. Please see our updated ticket policy here.
